Summary :

This homes existing formal dining room was alienated from the great room and kitchen areas by a wall of dark cabinets. During the family room remodel we opened up a wall by adding a pair of elegant French doors to allow flow between spaces and let in natural light.

This custom cherry and oak fireplace mantle is the focal point of this great room. The original wood-burning fireplace with antique insets was saved, re-installed and framed with Kota Brown slate tiles and Designer accent strips. The space was brightened by removing the dark beams on the ceiling and walls and installing crown molding.
