After Orfield Design
This young couple purchased a rambler and wanted to achieve an open 1st floor plan with a kitchen remodel and turn their existing cold porch into a heated extension of the home. We designed and completed a remodel of the existing galley kitchen with the interior kitchen wall removed to the existing living room/dining room. The doorway from the front entrance into the kitchen was framed over, and the homes’ exterior kitchen wall was removed to incorporate the old porch which was converted into a 4-season sitting room. Other alterations included the remodel of the 1st floor powder room, updating of the fireplace surround and hearth, refinished hardwood flooring, and new painted trim installed. A new open and inviting kitchen layout shows off new stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring, glass pendant lights, and custom cherry cabinets. In addition, Peacock Green granite countertops with ceramic and metal tile backsplash helped to turn this older home into a fresh and inviting space! Home Location: Hopkins, MN Home Built: 1952
