“Orfield Design & Construction has just made my living/working environment amazingly more wonderful. I live here, I work here, and I’m afraid I don’t often leave here, except for the occasional meeting. It’s amazing to me what was accomplished this spring. And also … It’s amazing to me, now that I look back on it all, how little the construction affected my ability to continue to work through it all.

Ron, I’ve worked with you for more than 20 years now. And I’ve learned to trust your instincts for quality and taste. And obviously the people you employ reflect your vision.

Laura, while I resisted your vision about the walls, the lighting, and the multi-colored metals existing in my old kitchen … I’m SO grateful that you made the suggestions and put it out there. The details that we’ve crafted, not only in my kitchen, but throughout my home, have made this environment very cohesive, very lovely.

Diane’s input was immeasurable, and I’m SO grateful that you suggested that I tap into her advice and council, Laura. She gave me the additional knowledge that I needed to make some really difficult and very expensive decisions. And I LOVE her taste.

Trent became like a brother to me. It’s not easy to have someone move into your environment and not feel the least bit put out by it. Trent’s easy going attitude, and willingness to follow through with all my incessant additional needs, was a blessing to me. And his contribution to the quality of the final product is immeasurable. He intuitively picked up on my pickiness … or else he’s just as picky as I am!! … And he consistently offered suggestions that made this whole project something I could feel REALLY great about. And his work on plastering the walls was absolutely a work of art. I saw what he had to do to blend it all in after we removed the wainscoting (not to mention the big hole in the bathroom wall!). The walls are gorgeous now. And much lighter feeling.

I’m most grateful for his advice about changing the bathroom floor. Now that it’s all done, I realize every time that I walk into that room that it’s a wonderful thing to have the flooring (and LEVEL of the flooring) consistent. And his suggestion about changing not only the basement door knob hardware (which just plain gave out in the struggle to keep the cats contained), but also all the main floor knobs and even the hinges, is something I notice every day. Thank you Trent. You’ve made my home absolutely wonderful, and you were a delight to have around.

The tile people did a WONDERFUL job. Very meticulous, very centered. As a designer, and with my eye for geometry and balance, this was the aspect of the project I was most concerned about. They listened to me, gave great suggestions all the way through, and the end product is wonderful, and even better than I expected.

Cowboy and his team were delightful.  I truly enjoyed his visits. And again, they offered wonderful solutions to lighting my environment and were absolutely willing to do all the extra things I came up with. I never felt that I was being a pain with my requests.

The plumbers did wonderful work. And I got a big kick out of my neighbor, Jeff (my usual carpenter/fix-it guy), who actually had to get down on his hands and knees to admire the new plumbing construction under my kitchen sink. He was very impressed.

Dave’s work on matching the new cabinets to the old was wonderful. And he proved very willing to work with me on the coloration of the front door, which posed a bit of a problem. I also sincerely appreciate all he and Trent did to save my windows throughout the house, which were in the last stages of giving up the ghost.

Bottom line is this … I believe in what you’re doing. I always felt that you had my investment (in my home) at heart … And now I have an environment to live and work in that feels truly ME … And feels healed somehow.
