ORFIELD DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION, INC. WINS REMODELING AWARD

June 2008 (St. Louis Park, MN) - Continuing to set new standards of professionalism, 81 remodeling companies from across the United States were honored at the fifteenth annual Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence on June 11th at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia during the Southern Building Show.

Judged by editors and writers of Better Homes & Gardens, Woman’s Day, Southern Living and Houseplans.com, the winners were selected from over 526 entries. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.

The award entries were divided into the following 4 regional categories; Midwest (12 States), Northeast (11 States), West (13 States), and South (14 States). Orfield Design & Construction, Inc. was one of 21 winning companies in the Midwest Region with competition in 12 states and 114 projects entered.

The winning project was entered into the Category of “Kitchen Remodel $40,000-$75,000”           

Orfield implemented the design plans and construction in a 1952 rambler for a couple who wanted to achieve a more open 1st floor plan with a kitchen remodel. The walls were removed to living and dining rooms, and the homes’ exterior kitchen wall was removed to incorporate the old porch which was converted into a warm 4-season sitting room.

 “To win an award in this highly competitive category is quite an achievement, which demonstrates their ongoing commitment to excellence.” says Ken Kanline, Director of the Awards.

The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation’s best work in seventeen general categories of residential remodeling, as well as regional and national Remodeler of the Year winners.
